After Milan (2014), Rio de Janiero (2016), and Sydney (2018) the biannual ICEC World Congress will return to Rotterdam in The Netherlands from June 12 – 15, 2022 as a hybrid event. What is the ICEC World Congress?

ICEC World Congress 2022 is a global conference of the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) to be held in conjunction with and hosted by the Dutch Association of Cost Engineers (DACE). For the first time, the congress will be delivered in a hybrid event format, combining a live, in-person conference experience, with a virtual environment.

ICEC represents more than 300.000 ICEC Professionals (Cost Engineers; Project Controls Professionals; and Quantity Surveyors), in more than 40 Associations working in more than 120 Countries. The ICEC Professionals work globally in amongst others the building, infra, petrochemical, steel, mining, food, manufacturing industries.

Conference topic: Predictable projects in a dynamic world

The world is rapidly changing in many ways; digitalization, global warming and Covid-19 have a huge impact on the world where we live in. Despite all the changes we strive for predictable project outcomes. The theme of the conference is therefore “Predictable projects in a dynamic world”.

A Dynamic World refers to innovation (technical & IT), environmental challenges (sea rise, sustainability) and economic developments (world markets, COVID). Research shows that large numbers of projects are completed with a time and/or a budget overrun. The combination: “the need to be predictable in a dynamic world” should provide interesting presentations, panel discussions and discussion amongst attendees of the ICEC World Congress deepening our understanding of this phenomena. Around this topic the following 6 themes will be presented:

• ICT
• Geographical Influences
• Human Factor

Do you want to contribute to this global conference? You can, by becoming one of the speakers of the event. How? By submitting an abstract for industry and academic presentations.

ICEC is seeking abstract submissions that will provoke debate, stimulate discussion, offer new ideas, learning and/or encourage the dissemination of research findings. The Scientific Committee welcomes contributions fitting in the 6 congress themes, as well as contributions integrating these. Contributions may be scientific and technical papers, but also experiences and know-how or interactive sessions. At the congress, you can present your topic in a presentation or pre-recorded video.
