Drydocks World recognized the need to modernize its internal systems to better serve clients and improve operational efficiency. The company aimed to upgrade its estimating and tendering processes; key steps toward a broader digital transformation.

At the core of the challenge was an existing in-house estimating system that was difficult to maintain and could not be integrated with their new ERP system (IFS). To strengthen internal collaboration and enhance customer responsiveness, Drydocks World set out to implement a new integrated solution.

The objective of Drydocks with this shift toward integration was to adopt a more structured/standardized, data-driven approach to cost estimating and project control.

Drydocks World selected Cleopatra Enterprise after receiving strong recommendations from industry peers across the Middle East and recognizing the platform’s ability to integrate with ERP systems. Cleopatra’s reputation for system interoperability, web service integration, and a centralized knowledge base made it a viable solution to address Drydocks’ operational and process challenges.

What set Cleopatra apart was not only the strength of the software but also the quality of support throughout the journey. The Cleopatra team provided hands-on, responsive assistance, helping to resolve user concerns and ensuring a smooth adoption process. Their active involvement extended beyond implementation, working closely with the Drydocks team to fine-tune the platform for further optimizing it for long-term success.

This close collaboration played a vital role in enabling the successful transition from the legacy system to a more integrated environment.

One of the most significant milestones achieved through this collaboration was the digitalization of Drydocks World’s manual estimating records, such as tariff and manhour norms. Using structured Excel file templates, Cleopatra Enterprise transformed legacy data into a centralized, accessible knowledge base, significantly improving data management and consistency across departments.

The integration of Cleopatra’s cloud-based SaaS solution also enabled seamless connectivity with key enterprise systems, including CRM, the tendering process, and the IFS production system. This connectivity lays the foundation for improved operational efficiency, streamlined workflows, and better data traceability.

While Drydocks World has made significant progress in adopting Cleopatra Enterprise, the implementation is still in an evolving phase. The system has already established a base for digital transformation, yet with ongoing support from the Cleopatra team, certain important areas require continued refinement to meet the company’s complex operational and strategic requirements.
